Good deals

Went shopping today. Yes, I actually do go shopping on a quarterly basis from time to time. I went to the outlet malls to get a present that I need to buy for someone. I knew exactly what I wanted. I made one mistake though – I took my husband with me. Let us all not forget the time that I took him to BabiesRUs with me to get bottles and he gave me the third degree about why we needed a whopping 4 bottles instead of 2 of them. You remember, right?

Today's adventure started when I decided to ask Dear Husband to go to the outlets with me so that he could watch Bro (while I looked around) we could just spend some time getting out of the house – together. I went into the one store where I was buying the gift. Oh, excuse me while I am being so cryptic but the person who I was getting the gift for reads my blog.

So, I got into the store and I found my gift – easy. Then, I kinda just started to walk around and look at stuff. I mean, we were in the outlet malls and I needed to know if there was anything there that I couldn’t leave without. Right? I was kinda browsing the store when I noticed that Dear Husband was right on my heels. I mean he was following closer than an aggressive driver. So, I kept walking and wondering what was wrong with him when I realized that I had, once again, made a fatal error; I invited Dear Husband to come shopping with me. Yeow!

This meant that I was not going to be able to buy a cool discount sweater. I was not going to be able to get shoes for Bro. I was not going to be walking away with miscellaneous Christmas gifts. Nothing. Nada. Zilch.

Then, what to my wondering eyes should appear, but this great shirt for only $4.99. And he let me buy it!!!!!!

Then, he let me go to Stride Rite and get the shoes that I wanted to get for Bro. They we marked down and then 30% off of that.

In turn, I let him walk over to the Adidas store and pick out some new tennis shoes. This alone is monumental because I learned, long ago, not to shop for tennis shoes with Dear Husband. Okay – my tennis shoes are the Sports Authority special. Nothing more than $20 and they last me for years. The process for me to buy tennis shoes is the same evey time: go to Sports Authority, but $20 pair of shoes, repeat every three years. When we are shopping for shoes for him, we could go to every store within a reasonable distance and spend all day, literally all day, looking for shoes and still not come home with a pair. To his credit, he wears a size 11.5 or 12 shoe and those are fairly hard to come by. But, we just can’t shoe shop together. Dear Husband has some affinity to Adidas shoes that stems from his days as a soccer player. Thus, it took him no time at all to find a pair that he would settle for in the Adidas store. Here they are:

All in all, I would consider this to be a very successful trip. Both of my boys got new shoes. I got just the birthday present that I was looking for. Plus, I got a new top – for 5 bucks – now THAT’S what I call a steal!

I almost forgot... we got Bro a shirt for game day. Can't wait to see him in it!

By the way, I discovered, on the way home, the reason why Dear Husband was so amiable about all of my purchases today. He wants to go on an all-day motorcycle ride with the boys next weekend. After his performance today, I think he deserves it. What do you think?
