Earth Hour - Choose Earth

Are you going to choose Earth tomorrow?

VOTE EARTH

All we are asking is that you turn off your lights at 8:30 p.m. - for one hour. The goal is to have 1 billion people switch off their lights as a vote for Earth. In the past Global landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Rome’s Colosseum, the Sydney Opera House and the Coca Cola billboard in Times Square all stood in darkness for Earth hour. This year the Acropolis, Empire State Building, and Petronas Towers are joining in as well.

I will be participating and taking pictures of my dark house and neighborhood (might not be very interesting though). Please leave me a comment if you participate and blog about it - I want to see how your family spends one hour in the dark!

Is it just lights that are off? May we turn the lights off and leave the tv or 'puter on? May we drive somewhere or do we have to stay in the dark house? I spent a lot of time in a dark house during WWII.. no lights at night.. but we had our radio on and that kept us "amused"...

This is great. I wish I'd known. Make sure to email me next year. Hmmm...but wait. Can I check my email using battery power? HA! I can go 1hr without lights, but I'm not sure I can go 1hr without email. OH NO!
