Good bye to an era

"I'm sorry to say
so but, sadly it's true
that bang-ups and hang-ups
can happen to you"
- Dr. Seuss

Soon we will be saying goodbye to a dear friend that my family refers to as "just a little space."

It's an inside family joke. Everyone in my family is now laughing. The rest of you are confused.

Allow me to introduce you to just a little space.

Just a little space is that gaping hole space inbetween Lulu's two front teeth. Just a little space was handed down to me by my maternal grandfather's family. I, in turn, passed the space down to Lulu ('sorry baby').

Please take a good look now because just a little space is not going to be with us much longer. Just a little space will be, however, replaced by her partner-in-crime, affectionately referred to as shiny-silver-braces-that-make-me-feel-like-a-teenager.

Flood Warning: I do indeed promise you that I will start crying when she flashes her first (and proud) shiny, silver, teenager smile. Another sign that my baby is growing up. I can hardly stand it!

Day #7

Don't forget to turn the water off when you brush your teeth. If this won't work for you... at least turn the water down to a trickle. Thanks!

Oh my goodness!! But I'm sure she will be glad to get rid of "just a little space"

Okay, you scared the bejeesus out of me with this. At first I thought by saying goodbye you meant that she was dying. Obviously, I'm morbid, BUT I AM ALSO SO RELIEVED to have completely misread that.

It's still going to be awhile before my heart slows down, though.
