The general premise of the “game” comes from a new show (that I have never heard of) called Marriage Ref. In Marriage Ref, people/judges help solve little marriage squabbles. Yummy Mummy posted her own “squabble” and asks for your help.
We have an ongoing “squabble” in my house too, of course.
Today. I am going to give you BOTH sides of the argument (without telling you which one is mine) and let you decide the outcome.
Here goes…
What do you think? Do you side with #1 or #2 {{no pun intended – get it #2 – hahahahahaha}}?

I am totally for the basement. Although I hate the thought of anyone being within 50 feet of my while I do my business, so I would be fine with a dirty cold bathroom as long as it was far away from people. But, I also think it is just polite to keep the stuff as far from the main living area as possible.
This is sooo funny! Growing up I only knew two families that even had the luxury of a second commode in the home and our second one opened into the kitchen.. NOT where you would regularly want #2.. It was mainly for kids coming in from outside to use without traipsing all through the house in muddy/snowy/etc clothing..
I NEVER heard of anyone wanting to divide the "duties" between the commodes.. How funny! Put a can of smell-good spray in the bathroom and let everyone go wherever they feel most comfortable.. What happens to the poor soul who finds out after going in the bathroom that there is going to be more than originally expected? You grab up your britches and run down the stairs??? I am still laughing...
Well...knowing you both I am sure that I can guess who thinks what but...I think you should go where you want...having said that I am with Michele as that I would go downstairs but don't really care what others do!
I agree that as a family memnber you should be able to use whichever toilet is most convenient. HOWEVER, I would hope that knowing the location of the toilet might encourage someone who knows they will stink it up to simply go downstairs out of common courtesy. That said, I am anal (heehee) about where I do my business. I would go downstairs far away from the rest of the family. That said, you cannot eliminate (heehee) the need for #2 in the upstairs bathroom- esoecialoly since you have a little boy about to potty train and in no way can he be running downstairs to poop.
I saw that first issue of "The Marriage Ref" and thought it was so funny!
I think I'd go for #2, but with the caveat that family members should be respectful of each other and there should at least be a throw rug at the foot of the toilet to keep toes warm ;)
