Safety Tip

Did you know that according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), almost once a month a child between 7 months and 10-years-old dies from window cord strangulation and another child suffers a near strangulation?

Did you know that CPSC has indentified window coverings with cords as one of the top five hidden hazards in the home, and recommends the use of cordless window coverings in all homes where children live or visit?

Did you know that there is a Window Covering Safety Council?

Did you know that to help prevent cord accidents, the Window Covering Safety Council provides consumers with FREE cord stops, tassels and tie-down devices as well as a safety brochure with retro fit instructions with each order.  {{gasp - yes I used the "Free" word}}

If you have a child who lives in your home OR a CHILD WHO VISITS YOUR HOME... then make sure that you have proper cord stops, tassels, and tie-down devices in your home.

You can view the easy retro fit instructions here

I am ordering my kits right now... how 'bout you?

Yes, very scary! In fact, no cords are "safe." Here's a link:

They can even strangle in the internal cords that make them go up and down....we've started replacing ALL our blinds with curtains....thanks for the reminder to work on another room in the house :)
